Hello, all! The Helpful NPCs are here to present to you a revision of the Wild Magic Sorcerer present in D&D 5e. One of the players in my (Helpful NPC Thom) game is playing a wild magic sorcerer, and I wasn't quite satisfied with how the rules worked. Aside from wild surges not being common enough, I certainly wasn't happy with the prospect of the sorcerer fireballing himself and the whole party at first level.
As rules tweaks and changes go, the project naturally spiraled a bit out of control, and I ended up adding some more entries to the table. Hopefully my wild magic sorcerer likes it--and hopefully you find it useful, too!

How does this once per minute work? If I cast a 1st level spell, do I have to roll for chaos every minute? Inevitably triggering a surge for every spell that is cast.
